Quinta do Judeu has been making traditional Douro wines since the property was acquired in 1932 by the Alves de Carvalho family. Quinta do Judeu owns 3 estates in the Douro Valley with a total of 27 hectares of vineyards, only with native Douro grape varieties. The winemaker is Emidio Bacelar. This vintage of Quinta do Judeu By is a blend of 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca, 30% Tinta Roriz, 5% Tinta Amarela, and 5% Tinta Barroca, foot-trodden in granite lagares. The wine is showing attractive aromas of plums, cherries and black currants. The palate is smooth, elegant and supple, with great balance and a firm supportive tannic structure. Drinking well now and over the next 3-5 years. Quinta do Judeu By is ideal with roast pork, beef stew, grilled vegetables, and aged cheeses.
