California Robert Mondavi Private Selection Rye Barrel-Aged Red Blend brings together the craftsmanship of California winemaking with the time-honored tradition of aging fine rye whiskey in oak barrels. This results in an incredibly bold and unique sensory expression. The cool climate of coastal vineyards imparts the Rye Barrel-Aged Red Blend with aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, and baking spices, and lush, dark flavors of plum and blackberry. Select lots are then aged in Rye Whiskey barrels, delivering a twist of chocolate, gingerbread, sweet mesquite and subtle toasted oak when added to the blend.
