Trinité Estate Acaibo is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Sonoma County in California. Acaibo is the flagship of Trinité Estate, owned by Gonzague & Claire Lurton, who also own several properties in Bordeaux. A Bordeaux-style blend, Acaibo captures the distinct character of Sonoma County terroir, where water is a precious resource. Claire stumbled across a text that outlined the etymology of a group of Native Americans loosely grouped together under the name Pomo. Hence, the name Acaibo was discovered deep within the linguistic history of the group native to the Chalk Hill region. Aca meaning fish, or Aka meaning water, was combined with sibo meaning three to come up with an elegant term for our wine and a nice logo to go along with it.
“Made up of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot, the 2016 Trinite Estate Acaibo has a medium to deep ruby-purple color and violet, chocolate box, warm black cherries, cedar and warm blackcurrants on the nose with nuances of beef drippings, cast-iron pan, exotic spices and a classy frame of new oak spice—this is perfumed and minerally without lacking any fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it has a good core of flavor layers, with firm, gently chewy tannins, integrated freshness and a long finish. Drink 2020-2032.”—Wine Advocate, 93 points!
