Vite Colte Derthona Colli Tortonesi DOC Timorasso is a wonderful expression of the Timorasso grape that was once nearly extinct. Timorasso is a white variety which has found favorable soils and exposures on the hills around the town of Tortona, in the province of Alessandria, since Middle Ages. Derthona is the ancient Latin name for the city of Tortona. It's known as a complex, mineral-rich, age-worthy wine often compared to a "white Barolo," celebrated for its aromatic intensity, structure, and ability to develop honeyed, nutty notes over time, reviving a historic local grape.
Vite Colte is a cooperative of 180 winegrowers with 300 hectares of vineyard in Piedmont, part of which is undergoing conversion to organic farming. Vite Colte’s dynamic is made up of people who strongly believe in a shared concept of quality, where the responsibility of individuals is an integral part of the result. Winegrowers, partners, friends.
“Intense straw yellow with golden hues. On the nose, pineapple, hazelnut and vanilla. On the palate, powerful and creamy, wonderful play between the acidity and the subtle phenolics, with a savoury finish.”-Falstaff 91 points!
Enjoy Vite Colte Derthona Timorasso with pasta, grilled branzino, roast chicken, and mild cheeses.
