Voirin-Jumel Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut V.1 Grand Cru is a beautiful but little-known Champagne that needs to be discovered! Since 1945, four generations of the Voirin and Jumel families have created distinctive champagnes from their 25-acre vineyard whose parcels are spread over 11 villages. As a Recoltant Manipulant, their wines are made only with grapes grown on their estate and contain low sugars and sulfites.

This cuvée is the signature blend, a multi-parcel selection from the Côte des Blancs, predominantly sourced from the villages of Cramant and Chouilly, reflecting the heritage of the Voirin and Jumel families. It combines three vintages prior to bottling, with proportions that vary each time. V.1 is Version 1, with a dosage between 4 and 6 g/L, exemplifying the ancestral Champagne tradition, where the dosage enhances the aromas. (V.2 is non-dosé.)

This is a super-fresh and lively style, with a tensile quality that keeps everything focused and driven. On the nose, it speaks loudly of its grand cru origins, with bright citrus, florals and cool mineral notes. The palate is alleviated from its strong mineral grip by some nice mid-palate fruit intensity and light creaminess borrowed from Cramant. The finish is of medium length. A really enjoyable aperitif-style champagne that is also one of the best values for the money.
